Welcome to the Kid Power FREE Webinar Series!

Just like ‘a kid in a candy store’, engaging children through media and marketing channels has never been more exciting. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult, too.

Media and marketing professionals around the world are not only facing the challenges of engaging children through an increasing variety of digital technologies – they're also facing growing pressure from regulators and family groups to stop using some of the most established media and marketing strategies.

While tougher regulations are rightfully placing the best interests of children first, all child oriented industries are being tasked with the difficult challenge of continuing to deliver relevant content, demonstrate measurable ROI, and guarantee regulatory compliance. However, as many leading child oriented media and marketing organizations around the world are proving, it's still possible to be a industry leader, while remaining responsible and fun!

All six Kid Power webinars will run LIVE, Thursday, October 13, 2011 - and will be available to view on demand.

Register for FREE now, and reserve your place to be a part of the Kid Power Webinar Series!

Online and virtual worlds are becoming the increasingly preferred media platform of choice for children around the world. But as far as any parent or guardian is concerned, it is also the most dangerous media platform, too. As a result, positioning your organization’s brand through online and digital channels can often face strong resistance from the discerning eye of web weary parents. In this session, learn from industry best practice on how to achieve a safe, secure and strong digital brand strategy, which places the children, and parents’ best interests first:

  • How to convince parents, guardians and schools that your digital and online platforms are safe and trustworthy
  • Why apps are becoming more popular – and how your organization can make them safe for kids
  • Identifying good moderating technology, metrics and best practice
  • Protecting users from anti-social behavior, bullying and ‘online grooming’
  • Ensuring safeguards are in place to prevent irresponsible monetization: in game purchasing and un-authorized transactions

Influencing Young Minds Through Positive Messaging and Positioning
Andrea Metcalf

Research from the American Psychological Association (APA) showed that children under the age of 8 are unable to critically comprehend advertised messages, and are prone to accept advertising messages as truthful, accurate and unbiased. As these findings would suggest, it is imperative that all media and marketing professionals ensure that the style and positioning their of brands and communications do not negatively impact the psychological and physical development of the child audiences they are targeted towards. In this session, gain a comprehensive understanding of how media and marketing for children can significantly influence the minds of young audiences:

  • Influencing the development of healthy, tolerant, cultured, and social young citizens
  • How advertising influences children's development from childhood, through to teen years
  • Cause marketing: making children understand the benefits of social awareness and good deeds
  • How healthy living can improve school outcome
